Aetherology Major Requirements

Students’ first interaction with the department is Introduction to Atmospheric Studies (AETH 100), in which students from all backgrounds are introduced to a foundational elementary study of Aetherology, learning the ways in which air directly influences all the Mytherial elements. Alongside this introduction, students complete their first PE Credit, Beginner Flying (AEPE 100), receive comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of flight. Through guided instruction, students learn how to combine their connection to the air with their mental strength to carry themselves through the air in a safe and ethical manner.

As students continue their their track, they choose one of three concentrations, Meterology, Transportation, or Purification. Students on the Meterology track continue their studies through Advanced Meteorology (AETH 240), studying how to funnel their connection to the air to drive away storms from given areas. Students also explore the effects of their decisions to alter nature, facing important questions about the effects of their decisions upon the areas that surround them. Students on the Transportation track are required to take an additional PE, Advanced Levitation. Here students strengthen their levitation skills, building off their knowledge from Levitation (AEPE 300). Students on the Purification track enjoy a unique opportunity in Influencing Sailing (AETH 261), fully immersing themselves in the world of sailing, spending class time out on the water in boats, and learning how to manipulate the wind in order to improve their voyages.

Aetherology Department Course Requirements:

The Aethereology department’s curriculum is meticulously designed to give students the tools and knowledge they need to prosper as Elemages in their future careers. Each major in Aethereology must complete 45 credits within the department, 9 of which come from their desired concentration. For the remainder of their credits, students can choose from an extensive list of Aetherology electives or classes from other majors.
