At the conclusion of the famous Elemental Testing Period, each first-year student summits Agni Mountain to reach the site of the world-renowned Elemental Selection Ceremony, when students demonstrate their magical abilities for the Council of Department Heads. Students channel their Mythera surrounded by strong power sources from each element in a demonstration of their unique elemental affinity. Like is drawn to like, and during this ritual, the Department Heads open their own power channels, allowing the students’ Mythera to interact with the great elemental forces of the Master Elemages. Through this sacred rite, students discover what element their Mythera truly is drawn to. They are then assigned accordingly to the different houses.

Their assigned Department Head will then call upon a senior in their department, pairing mentor and mentee based on of the demands of each student’s Mythera.
