At Mytherial, the fourth quarter of our academic year is a transformative and immersive experience for all students across class years. This 11-week quarter is divided into two distinct phases, each designed to foster growth, mentorship, and real-world application of elemental study.

The first four weeks of the quarter are dedicated to our famous one-of-a-kind Elemental Testing Period. This is the time when first-year students are tested and sorted into their Elemental House. During this time upperclassmen remain on campus to assist and mentor first-years in this sacred process of discovering their unique elemental affinity alongside the dedicated faculty members and Department Heads.

Following the Elemental Testing Period, the remaining 7 weeks of the term vary depending on class year. First-year students remain on campus and take an intensive introductory workshop class in their elemental affinity (HYDR 100, PYRO 100, TLUS 100, AETH 100).

Second- and third-years students depart from campus in small classes to study the natural world across the three continents to put their language learning skills to the test. These advanced courses will be deeply aligned with subspecialties and concentrations in their elemental field (ex. HYDR 372, PYRO 360, TLSU 377, AETH 371).

Fourth years will remain on campus for their intensive senior experience which will consist of mentoring first years, an intensive applied ethics course (MYTH 420) and an interdisciplinary course on elemental cooperation and synthesis (MYTH 422)
