In addition to core classes, Tellusology majors must take courses within the categories of rocks and minerals, plants, land, and metals. Students complete a major within one of the four categories and an optional minor in their requested specialization.
In addition to selecting a major focus within rocks and minerals, plants, land, or metals, students may pursue a minor specialization to deepen their mastery or broaden their elemental fluency. These optional pathways, self-designed by students in their third year under the advice of a professor, are designed to complement a student’s primary discipline while encouraging interdisciplinary growth.
Tellusology students also complete capstone courses in the fourth quarter of the fourth year capstone classes. At the end of this experience, students present capstone projects to showcase their work.
