Hydromagology Opportunities for Majors

Being a Hydromagology major is about more than just mastering spells — it’s about applying your craft with purpose. The Hydromagology department offers a wide range of experiences beyond the classroom to help you grow as a healer, defender, researcher, artist, and leader. Whether you’re guiding tides, purifying sacred springs, or practicing diplomacy between elements, your journey flows far and wide. These opportunities are designed to challenge, inspire, and connect you to the deeper currents of your magic.

Elemental Apprecenticeship Program (E.A.P.)

A selective mentorship initiative that pairs upper-level students with experienced water mages in specialized fields — healing, purification, combat, or tide craft. Apprentices assist in live spellwork, conduct shadow missions, and submit weekly reflection journals.

Example Placements:

  • Healing Wing of the Mytherial Institute Infirmary
  • Aqueduct Maintenance Corps
  • River Spirit Mediation Board
  • Elemental Emergency Response Team (EERT)

Water Research Fellowship

Students interested in magical science or conservation can apply to join active research led by faculty or partnered organizations. Focus areas include enchanted biology, sentient water mapping, and sustainable purification systems.

  • Students co-author spell books, present at the Elemental Scholar’s Symposium, and may earn course credit
  • Optional summer term for field research in sacred or unstable water zones

Water Arts and Expression Collective

A creative space for students to explore water magic through music, movement, visual art, and storytelling. Activities include:

  • Aquatic dance-theater performances using suspended droplets or mist illusions
  • Magical calligraphy with ink-infused water
  • Ritual poetry readings near the Moonpool reflecting basin
  • Annual Blue Flow Festival, showcasing water-based art installations

Aquatic Defense League (ADL)

A co-curricular guild for students interested in combining combat, strategy, and elemental ethics. Members train in defensive techniques, coordinate response drills with the Fire and Earth elemages, and simulate scenarios like drought theft, rogue elemental attacks, or elemental imbalance outbreaks.

  • Capstone Project: Designing and leading a multi-elemental defense simulation

The Tidebound Scholars Program (Honors Track)

A rigorous academic track for top-performing students. Includes specialized seminars, independent spell craft design, and thesis development. Students work under direct mentorship from Hydromagology Department faculty and produce a medical artifact, spell, or research tome by graduation.
